Rules and over-regulation
Oh those bad, bad universities. Last year dozens of them took on hundreds more students than they are allowed to. The official response to this was not to investigate whether maybe there are not enough places available, no instead they gave the universities penalties: a fine of up to millions of pounds. (more…)
Cutting away the bad bits
Nobody needs bad universities, right?
What we do need are strong universities with high teaching standards that will give us the best student experience possible. So surely, if universities with poor teaching and poor management go bust then that would be a good thing. (more…)
